A majority of my experience activity points came from the weekly event "Tuesday Times Roundtable" held by the global learning program, that showcased different New York Times articles covered by various guest speakers. Each of these topics explored global issues from Holocaust remembrance to sex trafficking in the digital age. One speaker who I found particularly interesting was James Knapp, a FIU alumni who came to speak on trust in leadership and personal development. While the subject matter was of interest to me as someone who always strives toward growth, I also thoroughly enjoyed his personal style of communication and his openness in talking about his experiences. I always enjoyed these events, because I knew no matter the topic, I would always find them incredibly enriching.

I also received a few points from various SIPA events, that covered a wide range of topics. One of the most valuable to me was a recent discussion on the Venezuelan crisis. I found this to be particularly engaging, as I had very little knowledge on the topic, despite it being fairly common in current events. It was incredibly informative, as this panel of expert speakers thoroughly examined the foundations of these issues, and explored what could be done and what should be done to address them. This format of having an open discussion also helped me understand the different perspectives of this fairly complicated issue. These events gave me specific insight into today's global issues and have significantly increased my global awareness.

I took a variety of global learning designated courses, and each one was incredibly interesting to me. While these courses covered a variety of topics, each one helped me gain new global awareness and helped engage me in these global issues to better prepare me as a global citizen. The documents attached here are just some examples of work done in these classes.
